Dodge Breathes New Life into Durango SRT Hellcat; Featuring Same V8 Engine

Abu Dhabi : More detailed information about the 2026 Dodge Durango SRT Hellcat's specifications will be made public in Q3 2025.

• Dodge quashed the rumours surrounding the end of the current-generation Durango after 2025.
• The brand has also revealed that the V8-powered R/T and SRT Hellcat Durangos would be returning for at least another year.
• Higher trim levels in the Durango lineup get new wheel designs, restyled bumpers and badges and a new Tow N Go package.

Just when it seemed the Durango Hellcat was done, Dodge confirmed it's coming back for 2026. This high-powered SUV still packs a 710-horsepower HEMI V8 engine. It will once again deliver intense speed and strong family practicality. There’s still room for a few powerful beasts like the Hellcat.

A Muscle Car That Refuses to Back Down

When the Hellcat Durango was first released in 2021, many thought it was a one-time showstopper. However, strong customer interest led to its return in 2023 and 2024. It even got special “Last Call” versions in 2025. Now, 2026 will be the fifth year this powerful SUV has been in production.

Despite its long run, Dodge has not confirmed any updates to its engine yet. The SUV keeps the same 6.2-liter supercharged V8 engine, which delivers 710 hp and 874 Nm of torque. It comes with all-wheel drive and an 8-speed automatic gearbox. The Hellcat Durango can go from 0 to 96 kmph in about 3.5 seconds and reaches a top speed close to 290 kmph.

Enhancements to the Durango Lineup

The 2026 Durango line-up also gets updates. The base GT keeps its 295 hp V6 engine. The R/T sticks with the 5.7-liter HEMI that puts out 360 hp. R/T versions now come with a new Blacktop Redline package. Higher trim levels sport new wheel designs and small changes to bumpers and badges. 

There’s also a new standalone Tow N Go option that can tow up to 8,700 pounds. The Tow N Go package costs an extra $5,990 (AED 21,665). It adds features such as anti-lock brakes and adaptive damping. It also adds widebody flares and special drive modes that can be accessed through a touchscreen.

Interior Tweaks 

The inside of the Durango R/T Blacktop Redline features six seats made from leather and suede. These seats have red stitching for a sporty look. The door trims and centre consoles are covered in high-quality leather and decorated with laser-etched geometric shapes called "crypto sweep" inlays. 

For those who choose the regular Blacktop package on the R/T model, seating is for seven people. This package also adds black badging and roof rails. All of this costs an extra $1,695 (AED 6,224).

Why is Dodge still banking on the Hellcat Durango?

For buyers, Dodge’s decision makes it clear that the Hellcat Durango isn’t just a short-term feature. While many brands plan to go electric soon, Dodge stays focused on big V8 power and bold speed. The Hellcat Durango is still the only three-row SUV that can tow heavy loads and accelerate like a muscle car.

Pricing

Delivery of the 2026 Dodge Durango GT and R/T versions is anticipated in Q3 2025, with ordering starting in June. The Durango GT's starting MSRP in the United States is $38,495 (AED 141,357); the Durango R/T starts at $49,995 (AED 183,586). These rates do not include taxes, fees, or $1,995 (AED 7,326) in destination costs.
