BMW unveils the all-new X3

ABU DHABI: BMW has unveiled the fourth-generation X3, showcasing new technology, bold styling, and a range of six- and four-cylinder mild-hybrid engines. Its cabin seeks inspiration from the all-electric iX setting a new benchmark for compact luxury SUVs.

The new BMW X3 has dropped the 'i' suffix, introducing variants such as the X3 M50 xDrive and X3 30 xDrive.

The new X3 is a bit larger in dimension than its predecessor. It features fresh design cues including elements that are also found in the latest BMW X1. The vehicle comes with an updated large-format kidney grille, illuminated on the flagship M50 xDrive (optional on the base 30 xDrive). It resembles designs similar to models such as the upcoming 5 Series LWB and 7 Series, with slats positioned in a different way across variants.

Inside, the X3 features BMW's curved display with iDrive 9 infotainment, previously seen on the current X1. It also includes a flat-bottom steering wheel, newly designed heated sports seats, and BMW's new woven fabric instrument panel, available on MY2025 models.

The lineup of the BMW X3 includes the 20 xDrive that comes with a 2.0-litre turbo-petrol mild-hybrid generating around 208 hp and 330 Nm. It takes 7.8 seconds to accelerate from 0 to 100 kmph. The 20d xDrive comes with a 2.0-litre diesel mild-hybrid that produces around 197 hp and 400 Nm and takes 7.7 seconds to achieve 0-100 kmph. The 30e xDrive plug-in hybrid variant pairs an 184 hp electric motor with a 2.0-litre turbo-petrol engine for 300 hp and 450 Nm, taking 6.2 seconds to reach 100 kmph. It offers up to 90 km range.

The top-spec X3 M50 xDrive is equipped with a 3.0-litre turbocharged six-cylinder engine that produces around 398 hp and 580 Nm and takes 4.6 seconds to achieve 100 kmph acceleration. It has a 250 kmph top speed. All models feature BMW and AWD’s 8-speed automatic gearbox.
