Audi launches Q2 LWB in China

ABU DHABI: A new version of the compact SUV, Audi Q2L is added to the automaker’s portfolio in China. The new variant gets larger wheelbase, similar to the already existing Q5L in the country. The new addition is built by the FAW-Volkswagen and carries a price tag of CNY 217,700 (RM 130,518).

The Chinese people generally prefer long-wheelbase vehicles, keeping this fact in mind, the manufacturer has increased the same. The wheelbase has been increased from 2,595 mm to 2,628 mm. It means, the Q2L comes with an extra 33 mm wheels so that the rear passengers can sit more comfortably enjoying the better knee room and legroom than the standard model. The vehicle now measures 4,229 mm from front to rear, which means it is around 38 mm longer than the Q2.

Coming to the interiors, it remains the same as the standard-wheelbase model. Inside the cabin, a 12.3-inch virtual cockpit is featured. In addition, an 8.3-inch display with an MMI infotainment system is also there. Furthermore, the interior has been complemented with adaptive cruise control and progressive steering system.

The new Audi Q2L comes with a 1.4-litre TSI mill, which gets two different tunings. The entry-level engine can thrust out a maximum power of 131 PS along with a peak torque of 220 Nm, while the engine with more powerful tuning can make up to 150 PS of power with a peak torque of 250 Nm. A seven-speed DSG does the transmission duty of the vehicle.
