Citroen C3 Aircross

While the Citroen C3 Aircross might be an entry-level car, it doesn’t feel like one, for the cabin has a quirky layout, funky-looking elements and a few modern features from more premium offerings. Adding a bigger car appeal to the cabin of the C3 Aircross is the sense of space it offers, with segment-leading headroom, legroom and boot space of 410 litres.

The multi-functional three-spoke steering wheel designed in a rounded rectangular theme has been taken from the more premium offerings from Citroen. The instrument console, with twin analogue gauges and a small LCD MID in between, looks plain but functional. A 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system takes the centre stage in the centre console and is accompanied by rounded rectangular AC vents above it and a compact panel having buttons for auto AC and push start-stop below it.

The AC vents and steering wheel here come with colour-coded inserts, adding a funky touch to the cabin. More features gracing the cabin of the C3 Aircross include a panoramic sunroof, ambient lighting, wireless charging, a sliding rear bench and Citroen Connect navigation.

Among all the compact entry-level SUVs, the Citroen C3 Aircross is one of the freshest and funkiest looking SUVs available right now. Many of the styling elements and silhouette of the C3 Aircross are derived from the C5 Aircross, which makes it look like a scaled-down version of the latter.

At the front, the C3 Aircross features a split design of the headlamps assembly, with the upper part housing daytime running LEDs and the lower one getting the all-LED headlamps. Both these housings merge with the wide grille placed in the middle, with it getting horizontal satin chrome slats. Adding more muscularity to the front profile of the C3 Aircross is the large air dam in the middle, silver-coloured rugged-looking scuff plates and tiny LED fog lamps on the bottom corners of the front bumper. 

The Citroen C3 Aircross continues its muscular appeal in its side profile too. While it doesn’t get any sharp crease or curve, the slightly muscular haunches above the rounded wheel arches add some character to the C3 Aircross. The wheel arches and bottom portions of the door panels are garnished with body cladding, giving it a rugged stance. The X-Cross diamond-cut 16-inch alloy wheel and 17-inch Origami diamond-cut alloy wheel options, along with door-mounted rearview mirrors, add further sportiness to the side profile of the C3 Aircross.

At the back too, the C3 Aircross looks heavily inspired by the larger C5 Aircross, with it having rounded rectangular LED tail lamps. The muscular appeal of the C3 Aircross is further enhanced by the tough-looking cladding and scuff plate on the rear bumper, with fog lamps placed on the lower corners of the bumper. 

Matching its elder siblings, the Citroen C3 Aircross offers a supple ride quality, which feels unshakable despite its taller ride height. The compact SUV comes with 205/60 R16 tyres and high ground clearance for its size, which gives it additional stability while tackling bad roads. 

The Citroen C3 Aircross is being offered with a single 1.2-litre turbocharged petrol engine paired to a 6-speed automatic gearbox as standard. This engine produces a maximum power output of 110 PS and a peak torque output of 205 Nm, making it one of the most powerful 1.2-litre engines on offer in the market right now. 

The equipment list of Citroen C3 Aircross, when it comes to safety, includes six airbags, ABS with EBD, electronic stability control, traction control, hill start assist, tyre pressure monitoring system, active safety brake, forward collision alert, automatic high beam assist and driver attention alert. 

The Citroen C3 Aircross might be compact in dimensions, but it offers a very mature performance and ride quality balance, which many other SUVs larger than it does not have to offer.
