Polestar 2 teased, it’s the new fully electric 4-door fastback

ABU DHABI: Polestar, the performance car producing company and the subsidiary of Volvo Cars, has released pictures of its new upcoming fully electric vehicle, the Polestar 2. From the images, it seems that the new Polestar 2 is a 4-door fastback, with bold haunches, slim taillights, and a large rear window.

Unlike the Polestar 1, which is a high-performance plug-in hybrid coupe, the new offering of Polestar is a fully electric vehicle. While the development of Polestar 1 is still going on, the company officials have said that the production of the Polestar 2 will only begin once the Polestar 1 is out in the wild or starts to roll out of the assembly line. The Polestar1 is expected to release later this year.

Talking about the new Polestar 2, it is only the second Polestar offering and the first fully electric model developed by the company. According to the company, the Polestar 2 will churn out a max power of 405.5 PS and be good enough for 483 km of travel range.

On the connectivity front, the model will come equipped with a new Android-based infotainment system that will also have an in-car Google Assistant.

Price-wise, the Polestar 2 will retail in the range of USD 44,000 to USD 62,000  which is also the price bracket of its prime rival, the Tesla Model 3. However, you, as a customer can get your hands on this fully electric vehicle by not only through conventional cash sales medium but also via the new subscription plan, which Polestar refers to a more premium version of what’s being offered by its parent company as Care by Volvo package.
