Abu Dhabi: At the IUCN World Conservation Congress 2025 in Abu Dhabi, Chery Group and its premium brand OMODA & JAECOO highlighted their dedication to global ecological responsibility. As an official sponsor, the company focused on Nature-Based Solutions (NbS). Citing the company's remarkable 152-position rise on the 2025 Fortune Global 500 list (to 233rd), Mr. Li stressed that sustainable growth is an integral part of Chery's global strategy, asserting, “Our success as a business is tied directly to how well we protect our shared home… We believe that true innovation can be achieved by combining technology, responsibility, and care for the planet.”
Mr. Li also highlighted their ongoing partnership with the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN), "Cherish the Nature" Global Partnership Program, which was launched in 2024 to conserve, restore, and sustainably manage more than 10 million hectares of critical ecosystems worldwide. This program uses Nature-Based Solutions (NbS) to achieve environmental protection with long-term economic and social benefits.
He specifically showcased the high-impact seagrass restoration program in Andalusia, Spain. Where Chery and the IUCN are actively working together to protect the Posidonia seagrass meadows, which are currently endangered by rising sea temperatures, intense tourism, and traditional mooring.
Mr. Li highlighted that OMODA & JAECOO teams are working with IUCN experts on-site to understand and apply NbS principles. He stated that this action reflects the brand’s philosophy: “We are not only designing intelligent vehicles — we are designing a sustainable future.”
To further this vision, the brand is working on developing an innovation ecosystem, notably featuring the AiMOGA intelligent robot for human-centric AI development. Additionally, the brand will be hosting the International User Summit 2025 in China to drive global collaboration and innovation in intelligent mobility.
Earlier this month, OMODA & JAECOO launched the JAECOO J7 SHS (Super Hybrid System) in the UAE, a major step forward for energy-efficient mobility that showcases advanced fuel-electric synergy. Mr. Li confirmed that in the next January, their innovation, the OMODA C7, will bring intelligent green mobility to the region.
He highlighted that they are fully driven by a triple-bottom-line approach, which focuses on ecological impact, economic empowerment, and social benefit. As Mr. Li concluded, their every conservation project must protect nature, empower people, and build resilient communities.
Chery now supports five major global marine and water resource protection projects through its strategic partnership with the IUCN. Chery’s initiatives not just position the company as a strategic co-creator but also help in shaping and sustaining long-term ecological solutions through innovation, technology, and collaboration.
