Next-gen MG3 hatchback unleashed

ABU DHABI: The all-new MG3 has been introduced and it is poised to make an undeniable impression in the supermini segment. It has gone through a comprehensive overhaul, marking a huge shift from its predecessors with a modern and fresh aesthetic.

The MG3 will be available for the first time in Europe, expanding its reach beyond the UK. At its launch in Europe, it will be available in three variants: Luxury, Comfort, and Standard. All the variants will have the new Hybrid+ powertrain. 

The collaborative engineering efforts between China and Europe have benefitted the all-new MG3. Its agile setup and compact dimension uphold the fun-to-drive ethos of MG with optimized suspension for enhanced comfort and chassis enhancements for stiffness. Additionally, a new hybrid powertrain has been integrated enabling noise suppression and refinement.

The all-new MG3 marks the debut of MG's first Hybrid+ powertrain that will feature five important components: engine, battery, transmission, generator, and electric motor. Despite emphasizing efficiency, the all-new MG3 delivers outstanding performance, making it the fastest accelerating B-segment hybrid model. Its combined output is around 143kW and it emits 100g/km CO2 and achieves 4.4l/100k economy figures. A 100kW electric motor and 75kW 1.5-litre petrol engine power the MG3 Hybrid+ offering class-leading performance.

The all-new MG3 challenges B-segment rivals with its advanced technology. The twin-screen cockpit with a 10.25’’ central infotainment system and a 7’’ digital instrument screen is a standout feature. Standard features include smartphone integration, satellite navigation, and MG iSMART connectivity. Advanced driver assistance systems such as MG Pilot technology and luxurious amenities have been added in higher trim levels.
