Hyundai to unveil next-gen Palisade in early 2025

ABU DHABI: The upgraded version of Hyundai's flagship SUV, the Palisade, will now debut globally earlier than initially planned. Previously, it was scheduled for a mid to late 2025 debut. The upcoming Palisade will feature a comprehensive design overhaul compared to its predecessor. According to reports, it will be unveiled globally as early as 2025.

Hyundai's decision to shift the debut of the next-gen Palisade to early 2025 is fueled by rising demand for petrol hybrids globally. Hyundai aims to seize market opportunities with the inclusion of the Theta 3 Hybrid powertrain. The upcoming Palisade will feature a new flagship Theta engine lineup. The non-hybrid Lambda series will be replaced by a flagship 2.5-litre turbo petrol unit paired with a powerful hybrid setup.

Hyundai is expected to introduce a 2.5-litre gasoline hybrid powertrain in response to emissions standards, which may lead to the discontinuation of the 2.2-litre diesel option in some markets where CRDi engines are available.

Hyundai's flagship SUV, the Palisade, competes with the Toyota Grand Highlander and Kia Telluride, boasting a modern design inspired by the latest Santa Fe model. The next-generation Palisade will adopt a new platform, resulting in a longer wheelbase than the current model's 196.7 inches (4995 millimetres).

Following its debut in early 2025 in Korea, the three-row family vehicle could be released by June of the same year in the US, as a 2026 model. There are no details yet about the introduction of the next-generation Palisade in the UAE.
