GMC launches 2019 Terrain in the Middle East

ABU DHABI: Armed with a host of new features and a bold design, the 2019 GMC Terrain has been launched in the region. It will be offered in 3 trims, SLE, SLT, and range-topping Denali. Powering the Terrain will be a choice of 2 petrol engines.

The 2019 Terrain sees an evolution of GMC’s signature design language with more sculpted and sharper elements. Thanks to the new design, the aerodynamics is also improved. The Denali variant features its signature satin chrome grille with specific accents like body-color fascia, lower trim and door handles, bright roof-mounted rails, chrome outside mirrors, and body-side moulding. Also standard on the Denali are LED headlights, and 19-inch machine cut alloy wheels. Other models feature HID headlights and DRLs with 17/18 inch wheels.

On the inside of the 2019 Terrain, you are treated to a lush, luxurious experience. The use of soft-touch materials and aluminium give a premium feel while having form and functionality. One of the highlight features is the active noise cancellation system which cocoons you from the world outside. Denali customers get extra features like ventilated front seats, panoramic sunroof, hands-free programmable power tailgate, and a Bose 7-speaker sound system. Infotainment screen inside is either a 7- or 8-inch depending on the variant. The system gets Apple CarPlay and Android Auto irrespective of the screen size.

As mentioned, engine options include either a 1.5-litre or 2.0-litre unit. The former is offered on base variants and makes 170 hp and 275 Nm of torque, and the latter 2.0-litre turbo engine makes 252 hp and 353 Nm of torque. Power is sent either to the front or all-wheels via the Hydra-Matic 9-speed transmission. Safety-wise, all models get an advanced rear-seat reminder and 6 airbags as standard. Other active safety systems include HD Rear Vision Camera, Rear Cross Traffic Alert, Lane Keep Assist with Lane Departure Warning, Follow Distance Indicator, and Front Pedestrian Braking.

All the host of new improvements makes the 2019 Terrain a great package and an all-round AUV. Prices start at AED 93,700 with the range-topping Denali model costing AED 141,700.
