Citroen C3 Aircross to go all-electric in Europe

ABU DHABI: The Citroen C3 Aircross SUV will be sold as an electric vehicle only for the European market like its sibling Euro-spec eC3, which has made its debut recently. The eC3 Aircross is scheduled to make a global debut soon. 

The upcoming eC3 Aircross for Europe has been upgraded as it enters its second generation. The CC21 platform of eC3 Aircross is inspired by the smaller eC3 hatchback, but it will be longer in dimensions, making it easy to accommodate a third row of seats in a 2+3+2 layout. It will be a 7-seater model. 

Thierry Koskas, Citroen's CEO, gave a sneak peek at the new model by sharing its preview images. Citroen UK spokesperson later confirmed it to be the new Aircross.

The Citroen eC3 Aircross will have an electric powertrain for Europe, but there are chances of a combustion engine version in the coming future. Citroen has not shared specific powertrain details, but it is estimated that its battery configuration will be the same as the eC3 hatchback. It will be equipped with a 44kWh battery, and on a single charge, it will offer a range of 320km. Additionally, Citroen is also expected to come up with a more budget-friendly variant with a smaller battery.  

The sale of petrol-powered C3 Aircross is already ongoing in the UAE; the eC3 Aircross is expected to arrive soon.
