Rolls Royce Wraith Expert Review

The Rolls Royce cars are among the most premium and prestigious vehicles ever made in the world and the Wraith is the third child of this company. This car was actually introduced in year 1938 and continued till 1939. The current model was brought over the street roads in year 2013 and has just incrementing the legacy that this top marque offers. The premium quality and extreme feeling of luxuriousness is filled in each and every bit of this car, and the front fascia which holds the mighty signature grill and logo takes the crowd in its court. It is powered by a superb and strong V12 engine which is a performer, but one would hardly push it to extremes.

Interior

The Rolls Royce is owned by BMW, but it hardly shows anything which BMW has ever employed in their cars. Rather, the brain used by the former to decorate their vehicles is a whole different thing in the automotive industry. Truly a palace on wheels, Rolls Royce Wraith uses anti-traditional way of doors' opening style and the cabin is equipped with top quality leather which is claimed to be the softest in any of the cars roaming around the world. It makes good space for four occupants and allow them to stretch maximum. The infotainment system has a 10.3-inch screen with navigation facility and iPhone-Wraith app interface. It supports all major input devices along with Bluetooth connectivity. The comfort over the seats is commendable and the trunk can swallow in 470-liters of luggage.

Exterior

The car over here has passed through various checkpoints and refinements after and before the paint job. It is finished with feather polish and with brazing jobs executed by human hands. There are more than 6000 welding points on this car including machine welds and manuals. The long bonnet and front fascia of Wraith has taken its lead from the Phantom, but is molded to add a pinch of funkiness with the reduction in the mature stance of the latter. With the RR Ghost inspired platform, the Wraith measures its length as 5269 mm, width as 1947 mm and height as 1507 mm. The wheelbase of the same is 3112 mm with 20 inch alloy wheels wrapped in with 255/45 R20 sized tyres.

Engine & Fuel Consumption

The Wraith is the third mighty vehicle from the bench of the British giant RR. The car has so much of potential and hunger towards performance, that it can almost beat up the race tracks, but one would hardly go upto the racing limits with this car as the car is made to possess the desired decorum of royal and lavish appeal and is built to be chauffeur driven. It is equipped with a 6.6-liter V12 engine which already sounds punchy enough. It generates 624 hp of power at 5600 rpm. The torque mated to this engine is as huge as 800 Nm at 1500 rpm. It accelerates to 100 kmph from stand still in just 4.4 seconds and can attain 250 kmph of maximum speed (electronically limited). Such a lofty engine can't be judged with the fuel efficiency, but the maker has stretched it to deliver 6 kmpl on average.

Braking & Safety

The Wraith has performer's engine and it swings quite easily over the driver's commands. The car has a very responsive engine and it obeys the driver’s demand very effectively. The brand has maintained the aspects regarding the safety to the maximum level by stuffing each possible trait. It is blessed with extreme stability and ride controls along with traction control, Anti Lock braking system, Electronic brake force distribution and electronic stability program. The airbags are engaged to every corner of the car to resist even a single scratch over the passenger's body. The head-up display conveys vital information continuously, while the lane departure system, automatic high beam system, night vision camera and cruise control supplements effective measures for safety.

Verdict

The Rolls Royce Wraith can be abbreviated as the shrunk down version of the elder and more mature Rolls Royce Phantom. It has almost every vital aspect which the latter covers. Despite being so special, the four seats inside and low trunk capacity are the only things which can be counted as its flaw. There's huge potential in this car which tells its story with its presence.
