Driving a Mercedes-Benz G-Class in Dubai is an experience itself. The V8 engine provides tremendous power, and the ride is top in a class and confident on any road. I romanticized the Mercedes-Benz G-Class for months but after driving it I got the reality check. While it looks modern and stylish and offers a thrilling acceleration, it falls short of expectations when it comes to day-to-day livability. The heavy doors raise safety concerns, especially with kids. At higher speeds, I can experience excessive wind noise which was unexpected, given the luxury branding of this vehicle. The low mileage and tons of technical issues with CarPlay make it a hassle to drive this car. Another huge letdown is the cramped rear seat legroom limiting the vehicle’s practicality for larger families.

So far I knew that this car is meant for high profile strata of buyers. This was at one point of time considered to be a humble utilitarian as far as my knowledge goes. I was quite intrigued to figure how the brand has attempted to transcend the same to a wealthy token already. No matter how much it has escalated in the social ladder the model is yet all set to conquer hearts of off roaders with it’s intense off roading skills. The boxy exterior part of the model will captivate any buyer visually. The machine can stand out with all the requisite infotainment and contemporary tech features.

The starting price itself is very high than many of its competitors. The steering is weighted appropriately and precise but entirely numb. Navigating tight spaces becomes a chore due to the wide turning radius. There is also noticeable wind and road noise at freeway speeds. The only thing I love about this car is its interior. The seats are supportive and nicely cushioned, and every element gives a premium feel.

I must say that the car is well supported with cutting edge technology like driver's assistance, parking assistance and a number of features that helps me drive with peace in mind. I am really thankful to the makers for keeping up to the level of expectation and the quality expected from a luxury house like Mercedes.
