The dashboard is dominated by a 9.0-inch touchscreen infotainment unit with a clear and crisp display. It supports several languages like Arabic, Spanish, and Russian. There's a 3.5-inch full colour instrument console. The 2024 GWM POER gets faux-leather seats and upholstery, with contrast stitching. It's eye-catching and the same style is retained on the door cards. It forges a posh look. Some hard plastics have been used to enhance durability. The seats flip up to reveal storage nooks underneath for items like tablets and laptops. The wide windscreen offers a great view of the road.

The 2024 GWM POER is a rugged-looking, twin-cab, five-seater full-sized pickup truck. It looks rugged and handsome. Pickup trucks have come a long way from being drab, solely practical vehicles to premium, feature-rich lifestyle cars. The 2024 GWM POER is immediately recognisable with its massive front grille with the brand's logo in the centre. The grille gets a chrome surrounding and is flanked by large LED headlight units. The cabin of the 2024 GWM POER is among the biggest in class. The front seats get sumptuous headroom and legroom. The raised ground clearance means the driver gets a commanding, all-round view. The rear seat is immensely spacious and can accommodate three full-size adults. There's no dearth of headroom, courtesy the pickup's boxy styling. The seats get nice padding and back support that reduce long-time travelling fatigue. But a bit of exterior wind and road noise enters the cabin. The pickup could do with better noise insulation. The suspension system is nicely damped and absorbs even the worst road imperfections.  

The 2024 GWM POER is hauled by a high-power, turbocharged, four-cylinder, 2.0-litre petrol engine that produces 188 PS/360 Nm. The motor is mated to an all-wheel-drive eight-speed automatic. Acceleration is a bit delayed as it happens with most pickup trucks. But the powertrain ticks along nicely when the vehicle gets up to the speed on an open road. Steering control is a bit vague, which is rather common in GWM vehicles like the H6 and Jolion. Handling needs some practice because this is a full-sized pickup. Off-road performance is impressive. The lane-keeping system is often intrusive, constantly tugging the steering wheel. But it can be turned off.

The 2024 GWM Poer's driver-assist features and safety equipment are the best in class. The pickup comes with Level Two autonomous driving technology, adaptive cruise control, road traffic sign recognition, semi-automatic parking, intelligent lane departure warning, rearview camera, and 360-degree surround view. Standard safety equipment includes multiple airbags and autonomous emergency braking.  

The 2024 GWM Poer has a starting price of AED 102,900. It's a heavy-duty pickup truck with a comfortable cabin and enough off-road prowess. The vehicle comes with a lot of features and is packed with multiple driver-assist functions. However, GWM is a relatively lesser-known brand and may have initial trust issues. It's still a worthy vehicle for its price.
