Peugeot Landtrek

While pickups generally have functional-looking cabins with only bare-basic equipment, the Peugeot Landtrek impresses with the sense of modernity which it possesses for its cabin. Along with premium features, the Peugeot Landtrek also has nice attention to fit and finish levels.

The driver’s cockpit of the Peugeot Landtrek consists of a unique two-spoke, flat-bottom, multi-functional steering wheel and a modern-looking instrument console has a 4.2-inch TFT screen for the MID. The steering wheel has a large centre boss and silver accents around the controls on it and is both tilt and telescopic adjustable.

The centre console consists of a 10-inch touchscreen infotainment system at the top, while the middle of the centre console has an asymmetric design with silver surrounds. This middle part of the centre console has AC vents and switches for the dual-zone automatic climate control within it. The lower centre console features a cascading design and gets a toggle-like switches panel and transmission lever. Like many other Peugeot offerings, the Landtrek also offers an imposing and modern look on the outside, which goes well with its pickup stance. There are a few design elements that have been sourced with the SUVs from Peugeot, making it look fresh among its rivals.

At the front, the Peugeot Landtrek welcomes one with its striking trapezoidal grille, which has chrome surrounds and chrome-finished Peugeot’s lion logo in the middle. While this chrome treatment makes the front profile look premium, the block-shaped headlamp housings with LED projectors and twin daytime running LEDs add some visual mass to the front look. The Landtrek also comes with fog lamps present within housings with chrome garnish on their lower edges. Adding some ruggedness to the front profile of the Landtrek is the silver skid plate in the middle.

The side profile of the Peugeot Landtrek looks tall with a high ground clearance and 18-inch machined alloy wheels, which have squared wheel arches over them. There are sharp contours over the front fenders. The Landtrek also has chrome-finished door handles, a window waistline, and rearview mirrors. The roof rails and side steps give some more butch treatment to the side look of the Landtrek. The rear profile comparatively looks simpler, with the Landtrek having vertically-laid tail lamps and a chrome-finished handle in the middle of the deck lid.

Underpinning the Peugeot Landtrek is a suspension setup comprising double wishbones at the front and leaf springs at the rear. This durable and rugged suspension combination, along with the option of a four-wheel drive system, makes the Landtrek a capable pickup to tackle all adversities and off-road terrains with ease.

There are two engine options with which the Peugeot Landtrek is being offered in the UAE. Firstly, there is a 1.9-litre four-cylinder diesel engine, which claims 150 PS of maximum power and 350 Nm of maximum torque. Then comes the 2.4-litre four-cylinder petrol engine, which produces 210 PS of power and 350 Nm of torque. A 6-speed manual transmission is standard with both powertrains, while the petrol engine is also offered with a 7-speed automatic transmission as an option.

The basic suite of safety features offered in the Peugeot Landtrek includes front, side, and curtain airbags, an electronic stability program, dynamic stability control, lane departure warning, tyre pressure monitoring system, ABS with EBD, reverse parking sensors, brake assist, hill start assist, and hill descent control.
