Forthing U-Tour

Forthing has given the U-Tour a very appealing and high-quality interior layout, which makes it look like one of the most premium cabins when it comes to compact MPVs. The UAE market gets the U-Tour with a dual-tone brown and beige cabin with Nappa leather upholstery and faux wood finish for the middle layer of the dashboard and door panels.

Like the T5 Evo, another stellar product from Forthing, the U-Tour comes with a wide cockpit comprising dual 10.25-inch full TFT screens behind the three-spoke multi-functional steering wheel, which has a large centre boss and is finished in a theme of white. This wide cockpit, which stretches towards the centre console, sits over the middle layer of the dashboard, which is finished in brown. The lower layer is finished in a theme of faux wood, and houses twin rounded AC vents, much similar to those positioned on the corners of the dashboard. The lower centre console has a floating design and accommodates climate control buttons while finished with a theme of black piano.

For its segment, the Forthing U-Tour is extensively equipped with feel-good features like a panoramic sunroof, power front seats, automatic climate control with rear AC vents, a push start-stop button, massage and ventilation function for the driver’s seat, ambient lighting and 6-speaker audio system.

While MPVs are generally functional in their appearance, that’s not the case with the Forthing U-Tour. This premium compact MPV from Forthing is one of the most futuristic-looking and premium offerings in its category and is something which will command second glances and public attention, even at a standstill.

The front profile of the Forthing U-tour has a dramatic-looking fascia, comprising of a spindle-themed grille with chrome dark chrome surrounds, with the outer ones stretching towards the side profile and merging with the window waistline. The grille also features boomerang-shaped, vertically arranged slats inside the grille, with the Forthing logo placed in the middle. The fascia also gets curvy all-LED headlamps on the sides, which also feature boomerang-shaped daytime running LEDs on the sides.

The side profile of the Forthing U-Tour might not be as dramatic as the front profile and follows a rather conventional look. Smooth contours flow over the front and rear fenders, while there are chrome garnishes over the window waistline, upper curve of the windows and lower part of the door panels. The U-Tour also gets large 18-inch machined alloy wheels and door-mounted rearview mirrors for an added sense of sportiness and premium look.

The rear profile of the Forthing U-tour looks stylish, if not as dramatic as the front profile, with the MPV having spindle-themed rear combination tail lamps with LED inserts. The tail lamps are further adjoined with a continuous LED connecting bar while having the license plate housing below it.

Being a compact MPV with premium positioning, the Forthing U-Tour has prioritized comfort levels for its occupants, and it is reflected in its supple ride quality. The comfort levels offered by its suspension setup are further accompanied by a light steering setup, which makes driving the U-Tour quite easy on traffic-laden streets. The Forthing U-Tour has been equipped with 215/55 R18 tyres and measures 4850mm long, 1900mm wide and 1715mm tall.

The Forthing U-Tour shares its 1.5-litre four-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine with the T5 Evo midsize SUV, and here also, the engine is coupled to a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission. The engine, which has been developed by Mitsubishi, produces a maximum power output of 200 PS and a peak torque output of 285 Nm in the U-Tour.

In addition to essentials like six airbags, ABS with EBD, electronic stability control, traction control, hill descent control, electronic parking brake, tyre pressure monitoring system, front and rear parking sensors, and 360-degree parking camera, the Forthing U-Tour also has additional driving aids like blind spot detection, lane departure warning, forward collision warning, open door warning and reverse traffic warning.

In addition to the modernity reflected in its styling inside-out, the Forthing U-Tour also impresses with its powerful powertrain and supple ride quality, and while the space in the third row is at a premium, the feel-good features and well-bolstered front and second-row seats make up for the compromise.
