Ford Super Duty

Matching the sheer size of the exterior, the interior of the Ford Super Duty also looks massive and premium. The cabin of the Super Duty carries an all-black layout, with contrast silver accents around the AC vents and centre console.

The block-themed centre console of the Super Duty’s dashboard features a large 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. This system is flanked by pentagonal AC vents on either side, with the same type of vents also present on the corners of the dashboard. The four-spoke steering wheel, instrument console with 4.2-inch LCD MID and control panel for audio and AC buttons look huge, thus adding to the larger-than-life appeal of the Super Duty as a whole.

The Super Duty is offered in double cab body style as standard, which makes it a five-seater vehicle with immense space for passengers, while the deck lid at the back also being sufficiently large for a good towing capacity.

The Ford Super Duty is one of those vehicles which can command respect and attention purely based on its size. This range-topping pickup is well-known for its sheer size and stance, which gives it a massive road presence. With the word ‘extra large’ written all over it each of its components, the Ford Super Duty is available solely with a double cab design with a massive bed behind the rear cab.

The front of the Ford Super Duty looks quite intimidating, thanks to the massive front grille, which is a combination of a honeycomb mesh rectangular grille with a large rectangular chrome slab with tapered lower edges running across the width. Either side of the grille comes attached with huge C-shaped all-LED headlamps, which have turn indicators integrated into between them. The front profile looks even more premium and huge with the massive chrome-finished front bumper, which houses fog lamps within their corners.  

From the side, the Ford Super Duty looks massive and tall, thanks to the high ground clearance, heightened bonnet and huge body panels, including the fenders, door panels, hinged rearview mirrors and windows. The Super Duty comes with wheel arch mouldings over the rounded wheel arches, below which the pickup gets 19-inch wheels. The rear profile of the Super Duty looks as massive as the front profile, with a large design for the deck lid and vertically-aligned tail lamps, which also get LED inserts for a modern appeal.

Apart from putting all the other pickup trucks to shame with their sheer size, the Ford Super Duty also rides over the other pickups with its impressive towing capacity, which is rated up to 16783 kg. With a payload of up to 8845 kg, the Super Duty offers a good load-carrying capacity, but the ride quality and driveability are on the heavier side.

There are two V8 engine options on offer for the Ford Super Duty. First is the 6.2-litre naturally-aspirated V8 engine, which produces 385 bhp of power and 583 Nm of torque and is paired to a 6-speed automatic transmission. Then comes a 6.7-litre V8 diesel engine, which churns out 475 bhp and 1424 Nm of torque and is mated to a 10-speed automatic gearbox. Among the two, it is the diesel engine which is the more ideal pick for the much higher torque and comparatively better fuel efficiency.

The Ford Super Duty is equipped with safety features like front, side, and curtain airbags, roll stability control, tyre pressure monitoring system, hill start assist, trailer sway control, lane departure warning, pre-collision assist with automatic emergency braking, forward collision warning, and auto high beam headlamps.

The Ford Super Duty looks and feels massive in almost all the parameters – be it the size and stance or the engine options offered under its hood. It has min-blowing capabilities as a lifestyle heavy-duty pickup, which are unmatched by any other pickup for the time being.
