Chevrolet Blazer

Just like the exterior, the interior of the Chevrolet Blazer looks very sporty and contemporary. In this RS-spec trim, the Blazer features an all-black interior theme, which is well-contrasted by red inserts to instil a sense of sportiness everywhere in the cabin. Here, the rounded AC vents have red surrounds, while the steering wheel, transmission lever, door panels, and seats come with red contrast stitching.

The driver’s cockpit of the Chevrolet Blazer has a four-spoke steering wheel with a satin silver finish for the spokes and a full-TFT instrument console placed within a trapezoidal housing. A 10.2-inch touchscreen infotainment system sits at the top of the centre console in a free-standing manner, above a slim panel for the dual-zone climate control buttons. Two large and rounded AC vents are placed in the lower centre console, while the transmission lever and an array of switches are placed on a gloss black panel.

The cabin of the Chevrolet Blazer is well-equipped with a few more features like a sunroof, leather upholstery, powered front seats, wireless charger, premium 8-speaker BOSE audio system, heated and ventilated front seats, white ambient lighting, active noise cancellation and powered tailgate.

With the Blazer, Chevrolet has moved forward in designing SUVs for global markets. Unlike all of its previous-generation SUVs, which have focused more on visual bulk, the Blazer focuses more on attention-to-detailing, and in the process, it looks much sharper than all the other Chevrolet SUVs put together.

The Chevrolet Blazer has an X-shaped front grille, which is finished in a theme of gloss black. This split grille moves towards the split headlamp assembly provided on either side, which comes with a thin strip of daytime running LEDs at the top and a small cluster of LED projectors in the main headlamp housings positioned on the front bumper. The front bumper is majorly covered by the large air dam, which is a prime part of the front grille and comes with gloss black honeycomb mesh inserts.

Despite its smooth lines and curves flowing over the bonnet and door panels, the Blazer has an upright stance much like traditional SUVs. With body cladding over the lower part of the door panels and front and rear bumpers, the Blazer has the sense of ruggedness that an SUV should have in the very first place. The Blazer comes with large 21-inch high-gloss black alloy wheels, which are the largest in its category. The uprising window waistline and door-mounted rearview mirrors add a sense of sportiness to the side profile of the SUV.

At the back, the Chevrolet Blazer has a very sharp and bulky look, comprising of rear combination lamps with arrowhead-shaped LED inserts. The large trapezoidal license plate housing and rakish rear windscreen with roof-mounted spoiler make the rear profile of the Blazer look very sporty.

The Chevrolet Blazer is available with both front-wheel drive and all-wheel drive configurations, and it is the latter which offers a more enjoyable and thrilling drive. Even on adverse road surfaces, the Blazer offers a supple ride quality and composed handling. With drive modes on offer, the Blazer can feel stable over undulations of different types.

The only engine and transmission combination offered in the Chevrolet Blazer for the UAE market is a 3.6-litre V6 petrol engine and a 9-speed automatic transmission. This combination is offered with both front-wheel drive and all-wheel drive options and produces a maximum power output of 308 PS and a peak torque output of 366 Nm. The Blazer claims a fuel efficiency of 13.6 kmpl with this engine and transmission combination.

Apart from the must-haves like front, side and curtain airbags, ABS with EBD, ESP, hill hold assist, hill descent control, traction control, reverse parking sensors and camera, the Blazer is also equipped with a host of ADAS features, including adaptive cruise control and rear cross-traffic alert.
