The Chevrolet Aveo is the smallest sedan from the American carmaker, for the customers who wish to own a car for the very first time. With small footprints and driver-friendly performance and driveability, the Chevrolet Aveo promises to be a great entry-level car. This small sedan is available in Switchblade Silver, Summit White, Black Meet Kettle, Seeker Metallic, Abalone White and Pull Me Over Red.
Speaking of the interior, the Chevrolet Aveo generates a quite different feeling as compared to the dull styling on the outside. While it is not as up to date and feature-laden as the cabin of new generation cars, it still feels decent and rich, thanks to a nice layout and consistent build quality.
The three-spoke steering wheel with vertical centre boss and silver inserts has been lifted off from the Cruze, which looks very good. The instrument console, though too staid in its layout, is very functional with a big MID screen displaying all the data onboard.
The centre console of the dashboard looks big with a silver surround and a large touchscreen infotainment system right in the middle, with rectangular AC vents right above it. The piano black surround for the AC controls adds a touch of premium appeal to the dashboard, while the dual gloveboxes add to the practicality.
The space levels on both the front as well as rear are nicely executed, with the compact sedan offering enough room for three in comfort. It is one of the very few sedans in its price which offers 60:40 split layout for the rear seat, which adds more luggage space to the already large 502 litres of boot capacity.
For an entry-level sedan, the Chevrolet Aveo has a good sizeable stance with big dimensions, which does give it a big car appeal. However, the overall design looks a bit bland which makes it dated by today’s standards.
The front profile of the Chevrolet Aveo looks simple, however, the two partitioned grilles with chrome surround make it look big. The angular headlamps with kink on the inner edges do have a simple shape, however, they do come with projector bulbs and daytime running LEDs.
The side profile of the Aveo isn’t something that will turn heads. Except for the sharp line which raises upwards from the front fender to the edge of the tail lamp, there is nothing much that adds to the look of the Aveo. Even the 5-spoke alloy wheels have an uninspiring design. The design of the boot lid of the Chevrolet Aveo looks simple, with a cascading design for the tail lamps going with the rest of the design of the car.
The Chevrolet Aveo, being an urban-oriented compact sedan, is comfortable to drive and handle, courtesy the light-weighted steering and small turning radius. The suspension, being on a softer side, proves supple and has a good low-speed ride quality. However, it is not as engaging and thrilling to drive from the enthusiasts’ point of view.
The Chevrolet Aveo sources its power from a 1.6 litre naturally aspirated petrol engine under its hood. Available with the option of a 6-speed automatic transmission, the engine in the Aveo produces 116 PS and 155 Nm of maximum power and torque respectively.
The Chevrolet Aveo is decently equipped with decent kit in terms of safety, with features onboard like dual front airbags, ABS with EBD and reverse park assist, thereby covering just the basics and not the more sophisticated ones found in new generation cars.
The Chevrolet Aveo might not feel up to date and trendy, as the bland exterior design of the car might not evoke a strong first impression from buyers of the new generation. However, the Chevrolet Aveo feels a strong product from the cabin’s point of view, with solidly put and decently kitted interior cabin. For a new or first time buyer, the Chevrolet Aveo is quite easy to drive in urban conditions, which makes it a decent option in its entry-level price point.
I always wanted to own a car which looks great. Recently I came across the Chevrolet Aveowhich looks great and the car is a great companion when I am travelling on the roads of Dubai. The transmission is automatic and the mileage is also great. The style and colour is great and every time the journey with my car is
