Watch latest video reviews of BMW 7 Series Sedan to know about its interiors, exteriors, performance, mileage and more.
The flagship sedan from BMW needs no introduction, as the 7 Series is one of the very few cars available in the world which offer you the best of both the worlds, sheer luxury and sporty dynamics. The only car from BMW which comes with engine options right from 4-cylinder to 12-cylinder, the 7 Series is currently in its most modern form, with all the futuristic gadgetries to tackle the ultra-luxury saloons.
On the inside of the 7 Series, things are as luxurious but understated as the exterior stance of the car. The overall cabin feels dripped in opulence, however, the lack of distinction of the layout of its cabin from the lower priced BMW sedans robs the overall experience.
Anyways, in terms of sheer luxury, the 7 Series wins the task hands down. You do get a steering wheel and instrument console very differently styled from that of the other BMW sedans. The infotainment system at the center of the upper portion of the dashboard comes with an advanced version of gesture control and BMW’s very own iDrive tech. The well-executed usage of wood in the center of the dashboard and door panels, aluminium inserts on the steering wheel and hexagonal shaped center console and leather in the overall cabin feels top notch.
Another prominent feature of the BMW 7 Series which can totally spoil you is the BMW touch command – a 7-inch tablet integrated within the rear center armrest for operating a number of functions in the car. It can control the tasks of air conditioning, ventilation, seat heating and cooling, massage, ambient lighting, infotainment system and blinds for sunroof and side windows. Telephony with wireless charging, remote control self-parking and the now-famous BMW Display key are other salient features which position the 7 Series a cut above the rest of the sedans from the same family in terms of features.
There is hardly any doubt that the BMW 7 Series is full of poise and handsomeness, as far as its exterior design is concerned. The 7 Series is available in both short and long wheelbase versions, and in both of them, it has a noteworthy stance. However, compared to its competitors, it lacks a bit of futuristic appeal and uniqueness which robs its visual appeal a bit.
At the front, the 7 Series comes with the traditional double kidney grille, which comes with a nice dose of chrome and active air stream tech. These headlamps are flanked by large double barrel adaptive LED headlamps.
There is a more decent amount of chrome around the fog lamp housings, the lower lip of the front bumper, lower portion of the side doors, window outlines, outside rearview mirrors, lower part of the rear bumper and boot lid, all of which make the 7 Series look elegant. The L-shaped LED tail lamps are large as well as sleek, and thus accentuate the rear profile of the 7 Series very well.
For the 7 Series, BMW has fine-tuned its EfficientDynamics technology to make sure that the car feels agile and spirited despite its large stance and heavyweight. The 7 Series comes with a strong CFRP frame and a very aerodynamic profile with air curtains on the front apron, active air stream in front grille air breather behind front wheel arches. All the drive modes and suspension and comfort modes have been retained to make sure one gets suitable to his preferred driving settings.
The BMW 7 Series is one of the very few cars which come with a very wide range of engine options to choose from, depending on your priorities of efficiency or performance. Starting off with the smallest, the 4-cylinder petrol motor (730i) produces 258 PS of power and 400 Nm of torque. The bigger V6 petrol engine (740i) generates 326 PS of power and 450 Nm of torque. Then comes the V8 petrol mill (750i), which belts out 450 PS of power and 650 Nm of torque. The top-of-the-line V12 petrol engine (760i) churns out 610 PS of power and 800

Nm of torque. All these engines are mated to a standard top-notch 8-speed automatic transmission.
The BMW 7 Series packs in all the top-notch safety features which are expected on a flagship saloon. To name some, it has front, side, curtain and knee airbags, ABS with EBD and Brake Assist, Lane Departure Warning, Forward Collision Warning, cornering brake control, dynamic traction control and hill start assist and many more high-tech active features on board.
In its current iteration, the BMW 7 Series has created a league of its own. While it might not have much uniqueness in its overall styling, the gadgets, features, and tech on outside and inside truly make it a car from the future. Then comes the range of engine options and supreme ride and handling package, which in together, make the driving experience of the 7 Series well controlled yet thrilling.
My fascination for BMW dates back to the times when I was just a kid and my father bought his BMW. That moment was marked by sheer joy, an accomplishment for my father and I wanted to feel it myself someday. When I bought the BMW 7 Series Sedan my excitement knew no bounds.
