Lexus equips Modellista kits on the UX model in Japan

ABU DHABI: After equipping Modellista kits on the Toyota C-HR, the Japanese automaker has included it on the Lexus UX models too. Both the variants of the Lexus UX, the F-Sport and none F-Sport have benefitted with the company’s move.

Earlier this year at the Bangkok International Motor Show (BIMS), Toyota showcased the new C-HR wearing a complete Modellista kit that looked extremely flashy. The kit included fake grille at the front, new rims, twin pipe layout and more.

Now with the new Modellista kit, the UX F-Sport model gets a front bumper spoiler, a trim piece that sits above the front grille, and a rear bumper add-on. Not just these, you’d find new side skirts and silver inserts on the roof spoiler as well. All the components included are meant to uplift the cosmetic beauty of the small crossover.

Besides the UX F-Sport model, other variants benefit from the headlamp accents, reworked tail light, and exclusive door sides.

Built on the new GA-C platform, the Lexus UX comes with sharp looks and aggrandized details. The spindle grille at the front is something that grabs attention naturally. The full-width tail light section at the back is special too. It has 120 independent LEDs that not only make the small crossover look bigger but adds to its aesthetic charm.

Under the hood, the Lexus UX gets a four-cylinder 2.0-litre petrol engine that churns out a max power of 170.3 PS, mated to a direct-shift CV automatic transmission system. The F-Sport variant is more on an aggressive side in terms of looks and performance. It comes with a tuned core suspension unit and has an adaptive variable suspension system that ensures a minimum roll during cornering.

The Lexus UX’s GCC debut is slated to happen anytime in the coming year. As for the pricing of the Modellista kits, the parts can be ordered independently. The price set for the roof spoiler silver add-on is 27,000 yen (AED 894.06) whereas, for the complete Modellista kit for the F-Sport model, it is 245,160 yen (AED 8,118.09).
