Audi gives us a sneak peek of the Q4 e-tron concept debuting in Geneva

ABU DHABI: The Geneva Motor Show is less than a month away and manufacturers are gearing up to showcase their latest and greatest products at the event. Electric vehicles are the rage these days, and will very likely take centre stage for several manufacturers including Audi.
Audi will showcase a compact SUV concept at the Geneva Motor Show 2019. The SUV will slot between the Q3 and Q5. The vehicle is called the Q4 e-tron, and a production version will be ready by the end of 2020 or early 2021. Audi uses the e-tron tag for its electric powertrain so we can assume that an electric motor will power the Q4 e-tron. However, there is no specific information as to what platform will underpin this e-tron concept. It could be either MQB or MEB.
Looking at the sketches, we can see an extravagant concept featuring a large 8-slat grille which is flanked by narrow headlights and large inlets at the corners. An illuminated e-tron badge is residing in the lower portion of the bumper. Moving to the side, exaggerated wheel arches are sculpted over the large wheels. The C-pillar gives the impression of a shark-fin and depicts a sporty pedigree along with the lowered roofline. The side mirrors appear to be the regular ones and not camera based as with most concepts these days. Moving to the inside, it appears to be an evolution of modern Audi cabins. The narrowly focused instrument cluster along with the angled air vents suggest that emphasis is being placed on the driver.
The production of the Q4 will commence in 2019 at Audi Hungaria in Gyor. Unfortunately, there has been no word from Audi regarding the choice of the powertrains which will be available.
