All-new Volkswagen T-Cross set to make its global premiere soon

ABU DHABI: Volkswagen is all set to reveal the refreshed version of the T-Cross SUV in South America soon. It will share its cosmetic features, platform, and body panels with the Taigun model available in India. The upcoming model is expected to have enhancements in both rear and front design, along with added equipment and exceptional features, making it a great option for consumers. 

The T-Cross facelift comes with many updates in terms of its appearance. The headlights will possibly have IQ.Light technology and the front fascia will look even more bold and aggressive with a bolder grille. No major updates are expected to the sides but new colour options or wheel designs may be introduced. For a cohesive design changes to the tail lights are expected.

The updated T-Cross will come with various interior enhancements such as body-coloured trims, a dashboard, and upholstery updates with the 'Volkswagen Play' infotainment system that is found in the Virtus and Taigun models in India. To offer more options and stay competitive, the updated SUV may be equipped with features like a 360-degree-view camera and Advanced Driver Assistance Systems, which are becoming quite important features in vehicles that are being offered within this price range.

While the Indian Taigun and South American T-Cross have nearly identical appearances, they differ in terms of powertrain offerings. The existing Taigun features 1.5-litre and 1.0-litre turbo-petrol options while the Brazilian T-Cross is available with the option of 1.0-litre and 1.4-litre turbo-petrol engines. Both these are built upon the adaptable MQB A0 platform that has been tailored for different market demands.

As per the reports, the facelifted compact SUV may make its global debut soon, while the updated Taigun's debut in India is expected later.
