XPENG G6

With a clean and futuristic-looking design, the cabin of the Xpeng G6 can be configured in one of the two options available – grey and black. This spacious cabin of the Xpeng G6 has a modern-day 10.2-inch screen for the instrument console and a 14.96-inch touchscreen for the infotainment system, that give it the feel of a future-ready, tech-laden vehicle. The dashboard of the G6 has touch-sensitive controls for audio and climate control systems in the centre console, with the multi-functional steering wheel also having touch-sensitive controls. 

Other features of the Xpeng G6 that make its cabin feel very up to date are a heated steering wheel, dual-zone automatic climate control with an air purifier and rear AC vents, an 18-speaker XOPERA surround sound system, powered front seats with memory function for the driver’s seat, heated and ventilated front seats, wireless chargers, a powered tailgate, and more. 

There is a new trend of SUV coupes in the modern car world and the Xpeng G6 nails that trend with its curvaceous and aerodynamic coupe-inspired design. The front profile of the G6 has a wide, stretched daytime running LED light bar extending from end to end. The front bumper of the G6 has lower-set headlamps sitting within blacked pentagonal housings. The all-LED headlamps have an auto-sensing feature and have a functional trapezoidal air dam between them, with gloss black surrounds. 

The curved roofline, smooth contours for the fenders and door panels, flush-type door handles and 20-inch machined alloy wheels make the side profile of the Xpeng look very stylish and premium. At the back, this electric SUV coupe carries a minimalist-looking theme with sleek LED tail lamps from end to end, designed in a wraparound manner. 

With a conventional suspension on board, including a double wishbone at the front and multi-link at the rear, the Xpeng G6 has four driving modes – Standard, Eco, Sport and All-Terrain – with four brake regeneration systems. The plush ride quality and easy and light steering setup are boons for city driving, though the steering can feel too artificial and lifeless at higher speeds. 

The base-spec Standard and mid-spec Long Range variants have a rear wheel drive configuration with a single motor setup, which claims 258 bhp and 440 Nm in the Standard and 292 bhp and 440 Nm in the Long Range variants. On the other hand, the range-topping Performance variant has a dual-motor, all-wheel drive configuration, which claims 476 bhp and 660 Nm.

The Xpeng G6 claims 4.0 seconds in the Performance, 6.2 seconds in the Long Range and 6.6 seconds in the Standard variant for the 0-100 kmph run. The Standard variant of the Xpeng G6 has a 66kWh LFP battery claiming a 435 km range. On the other hand, the Long Range and Performance variants have an 87.5kWh NMC battery that delivers a 570 km range.

The comprehensive suite of ADAS features offered in the Xpeng G6 includes adaptive cruise control, lane centring control, enhanced auto parking assist, 360-degree parking camera, remote parking assist, active lane change, automatic speed limiter, forward distance monitoring, driver state monitoring, adaptive turning cruise, forward collision warning, autonomous emergency braking, traffic sign recognition, intelligent high beam, blind spot detection, door open warning, lane departure warning, lane keep assist, emergency lane keeping, rear collision warning and rear cross-traffic alert.

The G6 also has six airbags, ABS with EBD, electronic stability control, front and rear parking sensors, and an electronic parking brake.
