Not really worth the effort
When I bought this car I supported my choice on review after review, ranting on about how good this car is, but in reality, it is completely the opposite. MG boasts about the 2.0T having 221HP and 350NM of torque, figures that stand next to the old Subaru WRX which I owned, but in reality, it feels lazy, slow and dull. The engine is never there when you need it to pull off quickly, it lags tremendously at lower rpm range and runs out of power at the higher ranges, this is only exasperated by the dire and .. for a lack of a better expression, pathetic gearbox response which will leave you with your foot flat on the floor and no performance at all ! The steering is vague and artificial and in traffic, the bottom end lag of this engine and jerky changeovers... when it finally decides to kick back is more than annoying and you will find yourself having to use the manual shift down to force it into gear. I can not recommend this car to anybody, especially not if you are expecting to have a sporty driver's car with a balanced power train. Unfortunately, the flashy design and seemingly high-quality interior (although the passenger seat is far too high for anybody over 5 foot and can not be adjusted down), does not make up for the rest of the car!
