Lexus LC 500

The LC 500 cabin is the most driver-focused interior Lexus builds, and it makes no secret of what it is. The dashboard wraps toward the driver with the instrument cluster angled inward, the center console is high and cockpit-like, and the leather-wrapped steering wheel sits closer to the driver than the passenger side of the car's axis. The 12.3-inch touchscreen introduced in the 2024 update replaces the previous remote touchpad interface, a key improvement that brings the LC 500's daily usability in line with what buyers at AED 462,000 expect. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are standard. The Mark Levinson premium audio system and semi-aniline leather upholstery are particularly impressive. Material quality is excellent, particularly on the seats, steering wheel, and upper door trims.

Front Seat

The front seating position is among the most immersive in the segment.  The low seating height, the high door sill, the deep bolsters on the seat cushion and backrest, and the wraparound dashboard create a driving environment that is physically different from sitting in a BMW 8 Series or a Mercedes SL-Class. The LC 500 front seat is the most engaging in its segment for buyers who prefer feeling in the car rather than on top of it. Buyers who prioritize easy ingress and egress will find the low roofline and high door sill a minor daily struggle.

Rear Seat

There are two individual rear bucket seats, and honestly, they are for children or adults on short trips. The knee clearance is minimal, headroom is restricted by the fastback roofline, and access requires bending. For UAE buyers who occasionally carry four people, the rear seats manage the duty with proper expectation setting. For buyers who regularly carry four adults, the LC 500 is not the correct car in this segment. The LC 500's rear seats are a spec reality, not a comfort credential.

AC Vents

• The LC 500 features dual-zone automatic climate control, allowing the driver and front passenger to manage their own temperature settings; this is particularly beneficial for a UAE buyer who uses the LC 500 as a daily driver or for weekend trips along the Corniche.
• Rear AC vents, dedicated venting for rear bucket seat occupants; given the rear seat's limited practical use, rear vents are the appropriate climate provision.
• Air-quality control and cabin heating system.

Storage Options

The LC 500 cabin storage is compact by design, right for a grand tourer.

• Center console with covered storage compartment, deep enough for a phone, wallet, and daily carry items without the wide, deep storage that a family SUV provides
• Front cup holders in the center console
• Door bottle pockets in front: The door pocket depth is limited by the wide door section required for the low roofline; full-size bottles fit, but the access angle is upright.
• Centre console armrest with storage below
• Glovebox

Charging Options

• Wireless charging on both UAE variants
• USB charger
• USB and auxiliary input
• Accessory power outlet

Boot Space

The 197-litre boot capacity is something grand-tourer buyers should consider before purchase. The boot opening is wide despite the low roofline; access is not the issue, but volume certainly is.

The LC 500 has Lexus Safety Sense and standard active safety suitable for a rear-wheel drive grand tourer:

• Lexus Safety Sense: Pre-Collision System with automatic emergency braking, Adaptive Cruise Control, Lane Departure Alert with Steering Assist, and Automatic High Beam
• Blind spot warning, side traffic detection on the E11 lane changes, and Abu Dhabi Corniche exit approaches
• Rear cross-traffic alert
• Vehicle Stability Control
• Active Cornering Assist, braking applied to individual wheels during cornering to reduce understeer
• ABS with EBD
• TPMS
• Driver and passenger airbags are standard, along with multiple supplemental airbags.
• Engine immobiliser
• Lane Change Indicator

Front

The front has the spindle grille in its most dramatic coupe interpretation. The full LED headlamps with the L-shaped DRL signature bracket the wide grille with a graphic that reads immediately as Lexus and quickly as LC. The front is low, wide, and deliberately theatrical without the aggression that BMW M and AMG carry. Automatic headlamps, the chrome grille, and carbon-fibre exterior accents are among the highlights. For a car that was designed in 2015 and has not been fundamentally changed since, the LC 500's front design still turns heads on the Jumeirah Beach Road approach and the SZR evening commute that newer competitors consistently fail to match.

Side

The side profile is one of the car's defining visual strengths. The long fastback roofline drops sharply toward the rear, the rear haunches flare notably over the 21-inch alloys, and the overall shape is lower and wider than the dimensions suggest. At 4,770 mm long and 1,920 mm wide with a 1,345 mm roofline height, the LC 500 is quite low for a grand tourer. The LC 500 relies primarily on its sculpted body surfaces for aerodynamic efficiency, distinguishing it from performance-first competitors.

Alloy Wheels

The 21-inch alloy wheels are standard across both UAE variants following the 2024 update that made 21-inch the standard specification. Actually, looking at it, the 21-inch specification is the correct visual choice for the LC 500's overall appeal and the correct practical choice for the UAE's primary smooth road network.

Rear

At the rear are quad exhaust tips flanking a lower diffuser element and an active rear trunk spoiler that extends at speed for additional stability. The full-width LED taillamp graphic with the L-shaped cluster that mirrors the front DRL is the detail that confirms the LC 500's design coherence from front to rear. The active spoiler is the one moving part on the exterior.

City Performance

The LC 500 in Dubai and Abu Dhabi is enjoyable and quite fun to drive.

• The naturally aspirated V8 produces a distinctive low-frequency soundtrack even at city speeds through the exhaust that no turbocharged competitor at this price replicates; the sound alone makes the morning drive from Jumeirah to Business Bay a different experience from every other car in the commute lane.
• Drivers may need some time to adjust to the low seating position and wide A-pillars.
• The 10-speed automatic in city traffic is smooth and easy; it does not hunt or stall in stop-and-go conditions on Sheikh Zayed Road.
• The low roofline limiting over-the-shoulder visibility and the 21-inch alloys' proximity to kerbs all need active attention in the Marina multi-story and the DIFC basement structures.

Highway Performance

On the highways, you get to explore the true character of the LC 500, where its naturally aspirated V8 separates it from everything in the segment.

• For example, cruising at 120 km/h on the E11, the 5.0L V8 is operating at roughly 2,200 rpm. That reserve, 471 hp available instantly from throttle input rather than waiting for turbochargers to build boost, is the sensation that owners of turbocharged alternatives cannot replicate regardless of their headline power figures.
• The 10-speed automatic's response to a full-throttle E11 overtake from 100 km/h is immediate and linear, and here again the V8 climbs through revs toward the 7,100 rpm power peak with a sound that is the segment's benchmark for grand tourer character.
• Overall, the LC 500's highway refinement, like low wind noise for the roofline height, settled body control at speed, and the V8's smooth power delivery, makes the Abu Dhabi to Dubai run feel shorter than it measures.

Ride and Handling

The LC 500 is a grand tourer, not a sports car, and its ride highlights that distinction clearly.

• On smooth Dubai and Abu Dhabi arterial roads and the E11The LC 500 rides with composure, absorbing surface imperfections while maintaining excellent body control.
• The 21-inch tires with 35-series sidewalls produce a noticeably firmer response over the speed-humped approaches of parts of Deira and the older residential roads of Sharjah; this is the ride trade-off that the 21-inch specification creates, and buyers whose daily route includes these surfaces should experience it on a test drive before committing.
• Cornering is fluid and predictable; the LC 500 moves through the Corniche curves and the Al Ain Road sweepers with a natural, progressive feel that rewards the driver without requiring precision inputs; it is not the sharpness of a 911, it is the confidence of a car that knows what it is.

LC 500 5.0 L Titanium

The entry variant comes with a V8, 10-speed automatic, 21-inch alloys, Mark Levinson audio, wireless charging, and the full design package at AED 462,000. However, it misses out on heated and ventilated seats.

LC 500 5.0L Carbon AT

The additional features on this next-level variant are ventilated front seats, a rear spoiler, and the carbon fiber accessory package over the Titanium.

Zigwheels Recommendation

Out of these, there is not much to really think about; both variants have the same engine, dimensions, and driving dynamics. The real difference is all about features. If you are going to use the LC 500 daily in summer conditions—and in the UAE, that is most of the year—the ventilated seats on the Carbon AT are the specification that makes the daily ownership experience more comfortable at the AED 30,000 premium. And this is the variant that is better for year-round UAE daily and weekend use.

The Lexus LC 500 brings a unique character to the luxury grand-tourer segment. Its direct rivals, like the BMW 8 Series, are faster and more technology-led, while the Mercedes SL-Class is more elegant and more convertible-focused. The Porsche 911, on the other hand, is more driver-precise and more track-capable. But what you don’t get is the naturally aspirated V8 at this price with this design, this sound, and this character.

That is what you get in the LC 500, and its USP in the UAE is not performance alone, but it is a complete emotional ownership experience that turbocharged, software-led, efficiency-optimized competitors have increasingly moved away from. The design that still stops traffic after nearly a decade. Cabin quality is exceptional and remains one of the LC 500's strongest attributes.

So here is a simple justification: anyone in the UAE looking for a grand tourer that goes beyond the specification sheet, the LC 500 remains one of the segment's most compelling choices.
