Audi E-tron

The interior layout of the Audi e-Tron is heavily inspired by the already-on-sale luxury sedans and SUVs from Audi, which are high on tech with simple layouts for the dashboard layers. There are two premium leather upholstery options on offer – all-black and Okapi Brown, along with a more exclusive perforated black leather upholstery with honeycomb stitching. Adding more elegance and premium feel to the interior of the Audi e-Tron is the presence of brushed aluminium accents.

The three full-TFT high-definition screens for the Virtual Cockpit Plus trapezoidal instrument console behind the four-spoke multi-functional steering wheel, the slanted touchscreen infotainment system in the upper centre console and another slanted touchscreen for climate control and drive settings make the cabin of the Audi e-Tron feel new-age and properly modern. The AC vents flanking the instrument console make the cabin feel wide, while the lower centre console also looks expensive with a gloss black finish and brushed aluminium inserts for the surrounds of the drive mode selector and electronic parking brake.

The e-Tron opened up new opportunities and changes in the design language by Audi, which was later on transmitted to other global offerings from the German brand. Even after being a few years old now, the Audi e-Tron still looks super fresh and cutting-edge in its appearance and still can turn heads with its visual appeal.

The front profile of the Audi e-Tron has a traditional octagonal grille, which has chrome surrounds and vertical chrome slats. This grille looks like a conventional grille like in other Audi offerings, unlike many other new-generation all-electric cars with closed grilles. This front fascia also includes trapezoidal Matrix LED headlamps with innovative lighting patterns, with daytime running LEDs flowing over them and extending down towards the front bumper. The corners of the front bumper also have pentagonal air vents with satin silver surrounds, which add to the bold look of the Audi e-Tron.

The Audi e-Tron seeks inspiration from the flagship Q8 SUV for its side profile, which is evident in the appearance of the sleek lines over the fenders and the crease flowing through the door panels. Audi offers a variety of choices of 20-inch and 21-inch wheels with multiple design patterns, all of which only add to the style statement of the Audi e-Tron. This electric SUV from Audi also gets satin silver highlights for the lower door garnish and roof rails.

The rear profile of the Audi e-Tron also looks inspired by the Q8, with a sharply raked rear windscreen flowing down towards the wide boot lid. The SUV here has sleek-looking LED combination tail lamps, which stretch towards the middle of the boot lid while being connected with a connected LED light bar. The rear bumper further gets more satin silver highlights stretched across its width at the bottom.

Besides having a Quattro all-wheel drive setup, which assures excellent traction levels, the Audi e-Tron also features seven modes in its drive select system, namely Comfort, Auto, Dynamic, Efficiency, Individual, All-Road and Off-Road. Each of these seven modes has customized steering and suspension setups for precise ride and handling balance over various terrains and speeds. The Audi e-Tron also comes with adaptive air suspension as standard, which can increase the ride height of the SUV up to 3 inches.

The UAE-spec Audi e-Tron comes with a dual-motor setup, which gives the Audi e-Tron the Quattro all-wheel drive setup and claims a maximum power output of 408 bhp and a maximum torque output of 664 Nm. With this dual-motor setup, the Audi e-Tron can reach a top speed of 200 kmph, while hitting the 100 kmph mark from a standstill in 5.7 seconds. The Audi e-Tron also has a 95kWh lithium-ion battery pack on board, which claims a 484 km range and takes 30 minutes for a 10-80 per cent charge using a 150kW DC fast charger.

Besides essentials like eight airbags, ABS with EBD, front and rear parking sensors, 360-degree parking camera, electronic stability control, traction control, hill holds assist and hill descent control, the Audi e-Tron also gets Pre-Sense Basic, which adds a few ADAS features like autonomous emergency braking, lane keep assist with lane departure warning and emergency lane keeping, a blind spot monitoring system with rear cross-traffic alert and vehicle exit warning, collision detection and preparation and automatic emergency braking.

The Audi e-Tron might be missing a few comfort and convenience features (some of which have been taken care of in the recent Q8 e-Tron update), but the all-electric SUV has high levels of sophistication, elegance and technology, making it one of the most advanced all-electric SUVs on sale today.
