XPENG just gave Dubai and Abu Dhabi their first proper look at the GX, its brand-new flagship SUV, and it's shaping up to be a real head-turner. It's not on sale just yet; that happens in September 2026, but the pricing, specs, and features are already confirmed.

Bold Looks That Turn Heads on Sheikh Zayed Road

The GX doesn't hide in a crowd. It's longer and rides on a longer wheelbase than the Mercedes-Benz GLS, the Audi Q8, and even the Range Rover Sport, so the size you see outside really does turn into space inside. The look is clean rather than flashy, with adaptive LED headlights, a blacked-out grille, flush door handles, and a big glass greenhouse that keeps the cabin bright.

A Cabin That Feels More Like First Class Than a Family SUV

 

Step inside and this is where the GX really shows off. Both the 6 and 7-seat layouts get soft leather everywhere, but the second row is the star of the show. One button push slides the front seat forward, lowers privacy curtains, extends thigh support, reclines the seat, and drops a huge 21.4-inch screen from the roof. It's a proper first-class experience for your rear passengers.

Engine and Range: The Best of Both Worlds

Here's the clever part. The GX is an EREV, meaning two electric motors do the driving while a 1.5-litre turbo petrol engine works only as a generator to keep the 63.3 kWh battery charged. That combination gives it up to 1,240 km of total range while still offering 310 km on pure electric power, so range anxiety is basically off the table.

Good to Know

Our Take: Is It Worth the Wait?

Honestly, yes, and we're excited about this one. The size rivals full-size luxury SUVs, the range takes the stress out of long drives, and that zero-gravity rear seat alone could be the reason buyers cross-shop this over a Range Rover or GLS. 

Add in an 8-year warranty and pricing that undercuts most rivals in the segment, and the GX looks like one of the strongest new SUV launches coming to the UAE this year. September can't come soon enough.
