After 18 years since the introduction of the last model, Toyota has planned to revive the Celica. Last year, the possibility of a return was reported, though no official confirmation was made. Now, Toyota is all set to bring it back.

This confirmation follows Toyota's anime series recent episode, GRIP, which showcased a whiteboard that lists future sports cars, including the Celica Mk8. Supra Mk6, GR86 Mk3, MR2 Mk4, and GR GT3 were also featured on the list. The whiteboard was seen alongside, a key character named Master Rugu in the show.

Toyota has not yet confirmed the new sports cars, but as per the reports, the Gazoo Racing lineup’s expansion is expected. Chairman Akio Toyoda has showcased his excitement to revive the “three brothers”: MR2, Celica, and Supra.

With the comeback of the Celica, updates for the GR86, and the MR2’s potential revival on the horizon, Toyota seems to be ready to rekindle its legacy of sports cars.
