Nissan Patrol - Knowing the SUV in and out

Its been only over a month since Nissan launched the all-new Patrol in the UAE. Ours is a land that loves strong built, fast SUVs and Nissan with its range of cars in the segment has always impressed us. Then be it the Nissan Pathfinder, X-Trail, or the Patrol Safari - all these beauties are a constant sight in the country. And one can’t deny the fact that dues are best enjoyed in an SUV. So, after knowing how great SUVs are, today we are going to discuss a relatively new offering in the segment the 2019 Patrol.

Now let’s get to know the new Patrol, but first, let’s start slow and see how similar or different it is to the older model -

First, like the previous gen Patrol, this one too is offered in two engine options - a 4.0-litre V6 motor and 5.6-litre V8 advanced mill. While the former produces 257 hp of power, the later can churn 400 hp.

Secondly, along with the previous exterior color options, the new Patrol is available in two new splashes - Hermosa Blue and Forged Copper Brown

Thirdly, though the car offers an overall silhouette that’s identical to the previous gen model, a few new exterior accessories add to the list

Fourthly, the Nissan Patrol was always high on safety features; however, the new model comes with a few add-ons that further enhances its protective shield. In the list are included Intelligent Brake Assist, Intelligent Forward Collision Warning, Intelligent Blind Spot Intervention, Intelligent Lane Intervention, six SRS airbags, tyre pressure monitoring system, Active Head Restraints, and Crash-Sensitive Door Unlock

Discovering The Patrol -

Engine - The new Patrol V6 produces 275 horsepower and 394 Nm. This one here offers 12% more torque than the competition. And as Nissan calls it, the V6 is ‘the hero of all-terrain’. The V8 is not far behind and is one of the most potent mills in its class. It generates 400 horsepower along with an exceptional 560 Nm of torque.

Taking the NISMO lane - The NISMO variant features technologies that are developed and pressure tested within the motorsport arena. Compared to the standard version, this one offers improved acceleration, sporty driving dynamics, addon aerodynamic design, superb handling. In short, it is the ultimate essence of innovation that excites.

Comforting cabin - The 2019 Patrol offers class-leading cabin space, plenty of storage options, and premium comfort. The SUV comes with climate control front seats, reversible open-type cool box, and dual-zone automatic temperature control.

Luxury splash - The Patrol is a combination of high-end features and premium upholstery. The steering wheel is a combination of wood and leather and comes with tilt and telescoping feature. Multi-functions audio system, navigation controls, and Bluetooth hands-free system are available. The offers segment-leading luggage space that could further be optimised by adjusting the 3rd row.

Undeniable road presence - The new Patrol is bestowed with a modern and fresh design that gives it an impressive exterior. The 20-inch alloy wheels, blacked A-pillar, dynamic chrome grille all add to its exterior looks.

UAE special edition Patrol - Surprise, surprise. Nissan has a unique offering that comes in the form of the Petrol UAE edition. Though the overall design is same, this here comes with its own set special features like smart roof rails that provide a neat finish and neat look, a satin diffuser with reflector, LED fog lamps, and chrome exhaust tip. On the more noticeable end are present premium add-ons like door courtesy lamp with logo illumination, and Alcantara roof liner with starlight.
