Jaecoo J7 Dominates UK Market: Super Hybrid System Drives Global Expansion

The plug-in hybrid J7 from OMODA & JAECOO has taken the top sales spot in the UK. The brand is now expanding its UAE dealer network on the back of that result.

UK Success & SHS Technology

Between January and May 2026, the Jaecoo J7 ranked as the United Kingdom's number-one selling vehicle. That result reflects the in-house engineering of OMODA & JAECOO's Super Hybrid System (SHS). The same technology powering the J7 plug-in hybrid in the UAE. Three principles underpin the SHS architecture: Super High Power, Super Long Combined Range, and Super Low Energy Consumption. In UAE conditions, Super High Power covers motorway running, while Super Long Combined Range and Super Low Energy Consumption suit the distances between emirates and the stop-start traffic of Dubai and Abu Dhabi.

UAE Market Traction

European sales figures are feeding directly into faster Gulf expansion. In the UAE, OMODA & JAECOO has passed 5,000 vehicle sales since entering the market. On Sheikh Zayed Road in Dubai, a flagship showroom at Oasis Mall opened recently, adding a visible retail anchor. The Chery International-backed company is also widening its aftersales network across the country. At Yas Marina Circuit in Abu Dhabi, a community event drew over 350 participants, more than 150 of them current OMODA & JAECOO owners.

Next-Gen Features Pipeline

Jaecoo plans to push well past its current hybrid lineup. The company has confirmed its Valet Parking Driving (VPD) system, also known as Super Intelligent Valet Parking (SIVP), will reach the UAE market. It lets the car search for a space, steer around obstacles, slot itself in, and return to the owner on a smartphone command. Jaecoo has also deployed its AiMOGA humanoid robots at international events, where they handle multilingual customer interaction. Shawn Xu, CEO of OMODA & JAECOO Automobile International, says SHS hybrid models have posted strong sales across Europe, Latin America, and the Middle East, with this technology push as the next step.
