Dongfeng has introduced the Warrior M817, its newest high-tech off-road vehicle. This model is now listed by China's Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT), which means it is ready for production. There is a chance it will be sold in the UAE soon.

Robust Powertrain

The M817 has a smart hybrid system that offers multiple driving modes. The powertrain delivers over 700 hp thanks to its powerful "Plateau Power Star" motor. It can run fully electric for city driving, use a low-speed range extender to save fuel, or combine both to get maximum power.

Military-Inspired Styling

The Warrior M817 is notable for its size and robust performance. Dimensionally, the SUV is 5,100mm in length, 1,998mm in width, and 1,899 mm/1,919 mm (depending on whether it has coil springs or air suspension) in height. The wheelbase of the car stands at 3,005mm. It has approach and departure angles of 30° and 30°/25°, giving it better off-road ability than many SUVs.

The Warrior M817 SUV takes inspiration from military trucks. It comes with robust look with sharp lines and a muscular stance. It has striking LED lights at the front, including grille lights and illuminated logos. On the roof, it comes equipped with three LiDAR sensors that support Huawei’s Qiankun ADS 4.0 smart driving system. The system also includes features like lane-keeping assist and automatic braking.

Dongfeng offers many custom options for the Warrior M817. Buyers can select factory-installed features like headlights, top cover trim, and electric side steps. The truck is also equipped with towing capability and an optional trailer hitch.

The air spring variant, on the other hand, comes with advanced features. These include a 150mm adjustable air suspension, rear-wheel steering, and a garage mode that drops the car’s height by 45mm. This makes parking in tight spaces easier.

The M817 SUV will be offered in city and off-road trims. The off-road model has aspects like anti-detachment rims, nitrogen shock absorbers, and all-terrain tires. All these help the vehicle perform better on rough ground. The SUV also has a six-seat layout and a longer body that reaches up to 5,600mm in length.

UAE Launch

Dongfeng has not yet confirmed if the M817 will be sold internationally. However, there are rumors that it could enter markets like the UAE. The vehicle’s tough military-grade build and modern tech make it a solid option in the high-end off-road SUV market.
