Apple products maker Foxconn introduces electric people mover concept

ABU DHABI: Foxtron, the automotive subsidiary of Foxconn, has unveiled an electric people mover concept car called the ‘Model D.’ Foxconn is renowned for manufacturing Apple products, including the iPhone. 

This model aims to bring a revolution in urban transportation by offering an environmentally friendly, spacious option for groups and families.

Italian car styling brand Pininfarina, known for its partnership with leading brands like Alfa Romeo, Ferrari, Ford, and Peugeot, has designed the vehicle, ensuring it is visually striking and functional.

As per Foxtron, the Model D offers 400 miles (643 km) of maximum WLTP range and is equipped with a 100-120 kW lithium-iron-phosphate (LFP) battery. The seven-seater electric people mover concept measures 1,995 mm in width, 5,195 mm in length, and 1,785 mm in height.

Inside, the Model D has a 2+2+3 seating configuration, with a widescreen infotainment touchscreen and digital cluster on the dashboard. It also features two additional touchscreens for the second-row seats. Within the next two years, the Foxtron Model D "could enter production potentially under a different brand like the Model C.

The Model D electric people mover serves as the third Foxtron model that Pininfarina has designed, following the announcement of the Model E electric sedan concept in 2021. Pininfarina claims the Model E can achieve 750 km of maximum range and delivers 750 horsepower. 

The Model B aimed at competing with the Kia Niro and Jeep Avenger, was showcased at the 2024 Geneva Motor Show as a "production version". While the Model B has 500 km of maximum claimed range, Foxtron has not yet announced these models' launch details.
