Abarth to produce high-performance Fiat 600 EV crossover

ABU DHABI: Following the 500e hatchback's success, Abarth, the performance division of Fiat, is now aiming to diversify its electric vehicle lineup by introducing the upcoming rugged electric crossover. The vehicle will make its debut in early 2025 and boasts a substantial increase in power over the standard Fiat 600 EV model.

Equipped with a more responsive motor linked to a 54kWh battery pack, the upcoming Abarth 600e is anticipated to develop around 192hp. The EV may also have an additional motor on the rear axle to enhance both performance and traction. Like the 500e, it will also feature a special "Scorpion Track" driving mode, enabling it to achieve an impressive 0-100 kmph time of just seven seconds.

Built on the modular e-CMP platform, the upcoming Abarth 600e shares its underpinnings with the Jeep Avenger EV concept. The futuristic chassis was last seen on the Jeep Avenger EV concept and can accommodate a four-wheel-drive setup. 

Special features of this performance-centric electric crossover include an Alcantara-covered steering wheel, comfortable bucket seats, unique paint choices, and alloy wheels, enhancing its appeal. It is even estimated that the 600e will have a speaker underneath it like its smaller sibling. This speaker could produce a faux engine note during acceleration. 

Fiat is one of the most well-known brands in the UAE, selling four models across all territories, including Dubai, Ajman, Al Ain, Sharjah, and Ras Al Khaimah. The Fiat 500 is the most popular model in the UAE.
