The 2023 Nissan Patrol is a very capable SUV in the Middle Eastern market and boasts unmatched performance and a whole lot of features for its price. The Patrol is offered in a total of nine trim levels - XE, SE T2, SE Titanium, SE Platinum City, LE T1, LE T2, LE Titanium, LE Platinum City and Nismo. In addition, the SUV is available in two powerful engine options.

The Nissan Patrol comes at a starting price of AED 210,000 for the base model. However, the top trim is priced at AED 347,000. What’s more, the automaker also offers a Nismo trim that is priced at AED 398,500.

Multiple trim availability

The Nissan Patrol is available in a total of nine trims. Each of the trims comes with its own set of highlights at the price point. So, the buyers get a lot of options to choose from and can fit their budget quite well.

The Nissan Patrol comes in two engine grades, both of which are distinctly different from each other and offer performance and efficiency quotient based on their price. The smaller 4.0L V6 produces a maximum power of 275 hp at 5,600 rpm and 394 Nm torque at 4,000 rpm.

On the other hand, the bigger 5.6L V8 makes 400 hp at 5,800 rpm and a peak torque of 560 Nm at the same 4,000 rpm. The range-topping Nismo variant produces a higher 428 hp power at 5,800 rpm and 560 Nm torque at 4,800 rpm.

However, all of the variants get a 7-speed automatic transmission gearbox as standard.

Nissan offers a range of driver’s assistance features in the 2023 Patrol. The features in this suite include:

In addition, the base variants get four speakers, the mid-spec gets six speakers, while the range-topping models get a 13-speaker audio system from Bose. The rear seats also get a 10.1-inch entertainment display with screen mirroring.

Suitable for all terrains

The Nissan Patrol is a very capable SUV both on and off the city roads. It comes with a Variable 4x4 drivetrain with four different modes - Sand, On-road, Rock, and Snow. Besides that, the vehicle also gets a Body Motion Control System with a 4-wheel independent suspension for superior stability and comfort in all terrain. Certain other features in this mobility suite are traction control and a locking rear differential.

Complete safety

The Nissan Patrol excels in the occupant safety department as well. All of the safety it offers are standard fitment across all trims. These features include front, side and curtain airbags, speed-sensing central door lock with child lock, locally fitted emergency kit, ISOFIX child seats, and a tyre pressure monitoring system.

However, the impact-sensing central door lock is given in the top three variants for both engine variants, while the base variants miss out on that.

2023 Nissan Patrol Cons

Optional off-road kit & cabin floor mats

Despite being a premium SUV in terms of price, the Nissan Patrol misses on a few features that should be standard. For example, the floor and trunk mat is given as optional fitments across the trim range; none get them as standard.

The same is the case with off-road kits as well. A car made for off-roading should have gotten this feature as a standard fitment, at least in the top variant.

Relatively expensive

The Nissan Patrol is pricey, especially the top trims. The top trim of the 5.6L and the Nismo variant comes at a price of AED 347,000 and AED 398,500, respectively. For comparison, the Toyota Land Cruiser Prado and BMW X1 are affordable alternatives.

Verdict

The Nissan Patrol is an excellent all-road SUV in the UAE market. It has been designed to suit the multiple needs and terrain in the country. As a result, the car gets all the features necessary to be on the highways, city, as well as hot sand dunes. If the price is not a bar, the SUV offers a great deal in its segment!
