Like the exterior, the interior of the Peugeot Expert looks decent, which has neither too feature-equipped appeal, nor it does look too basic. The cabin, which gets a dual-tone black and grey treatment, is decently equipped with essentials, which are good enough for a goods carrier.

The driver’s cockpit of the Peugeot Expert looks smart with a three-spoke steering wheel and an analogue instrument console with an LCD MID in the middle. For a goods-carrying vehicle, this is a decent-looking driver’s cockpit. Even the centre console looks good with its broad design, comprising of a touchscreen infotainment system with vertical AC vents on the sides in the upper housing and a panel of the manual AC in the middle layer.

The lower centre console has a start-stop button and a 12V charging socket, with an empty storage compartment in the middle. Other basic features of the Peugeot Expert include electrically-adjustable and foldable rearview mirrors and a height-adjustable driver’s seat.

The engine powering the Peugeot Expert is a 2.0-litre four-cylinder diesel engine, which is offered with both 6-speed manual and 6-speed automatic transmission options. With a maximum power output of 120 PS and a peak torque output of 340 Nm, the diesel engine might not be the most powerful oil burner in its segment. However, it returns a fuel economy in the range of 17-18.3 kmpl, which is segment-leading.

For a goods-carrying vehicle, the Peugeot Expert looks decent with a traditional large boxy look and a tall stance. However, there is a touch of French flair in the design of the Expert, which makes it a pleasant design, without being too basic in its appearance.

The front profile of the Peugeot Expert is the most attractive profile of the goods-carrying van. There is a trapezoidal grille with chrome surrounds and Peugeot’s lion logo in the middle. The horizontally-placed comma-shaped headlamp clusters flanking the sides of the grille are all halogen units, with their lower portions housing turn indicators. The front bumper here comes with a large air dam in the middle, which merges with faux air vents that are a part of the fog lamp housings. While the upper corners of these fog lamp housings get inverted L-shaped LED DRLs, the lower corners have small rounded fog lamps.

The side profile of the Peugeot Expert looks basic and functional, with the closed panels for the side windows indicating that it is a hardcore goods carrier. However, the prominent curves over the rounded wheel arches add some sense of style to the side profile. The other highlights of the side profile of the Peugeot Expert include body-coloured door handles and rearview mirrors, along with steel wheel caps. At the back, the Peugeot Expert has a split door opening, with a closed body-coloured panel in place of the window and vertical tail lamps on the outer edges.

Along with the noisiness of the diesel engine, another aspect which might not appeal to the people in the driver’s cabin is the bounciness of the suspension setup at both front and rear. The leaf spring setup might not be sophisticated enough to provide comfort but offers good ruggedness to carry all the loads over the worse of the terrains.
