Mercedes-Benz CLA-Class vs Porsche Cayenne Comparison

It has been a rollercoaster experience to own the Mercedes-Benz CLA-Class. The double-clutch transmission has been the biggest disappointment for me. I have driven various cars in the last twenty years, including cost-effective ones but I have never encountered the transmission to be so bad. Every shift in this vehicle feels painfully noticeable whether downshifting or upshifting. In traffic jams, driving the Mercedes-Benz CLA-Class becomes unbearable. The rough shifts of the transmission give me the feeling that I amm driving with an inexperienced driver who is learning for the first time to operate a manual gearbox.

Driving a Porsche Cayenne in Dubai feels special. It’s not just about the Porsche badge, it really drives like a sports car, even though it’s a big SUV. The V6 engine is powerful and gives smooth acceleration on highways. Handling is sharp, and you actually feel confident taking turns fast, which is rare in SUVs. The interior is pure luxury, with leather seats, premium sound, and a big infotainment screen. What I enjoy is the balance, it works as a family car with good space and boot size but also gives you excitement when you floor it. The space is more than enough for a family. Of course, it’s on the expensive side to maintain and fuel, but that comes with the badge. If you want to enjoy speed with comfort in an SUV, Cayenne is definitely impressive.
