2026 Jeep Compass Debuts with Hybrid and Electric Powertrains, Boasting Up to 375 HP

Abu Dhabi : Jeep unveils the 2026 Compass, featuring hybrid and electric options, with up to 375 horsepower. The SUV debuts in Europe in 2025, with U.S. availability expected in 2026.

The 2026 Jeep Compass maintains its signature boxy styling, featuring a refreshed seven-slot grille flanked by flatter headlights. The rear showcases X-shaped taillights connected by a light bar with an illuminated Jeep logo. The SUV's increased dimensions, now 179.1 inches in length, enhance interior space and visibility, aided by enlarged quarter glass.

Premium variants offer a contrasting black roof, matrix LED headlights, and a sunroof. The Compass rides on two-tone 20-inch wheels, with smaller alloys recommended for off-road use. Four-wheel-drive models boast a ground clearance of 7.9 inches, 20-degree approach, 15-degree breakover, and 26-degree departure angles, along with a water fording depth of up to 18.5 inches. Hill descent control is standard on these versions.

Interior and Technology

Inside, the Compass features a 16-inch ultra-wide touch screen paired with a 10.0-inch digital driver's display. Despite the expansive screens, Jeep retains physical controls for essential functions. The cabin offers increased rear legroom by 2.2 inches and expanded storage areas totaling 1.6 cubic feet. Cargo capacity behind the 40:20:40-split rear bench grows to 19.4 cubic feet.

The electric variants feature a 74.0-kWh battery for the FWD model and a larger capacity for the AWD version. The AWD model's rear motor, exclusive to Jeep, enables climbing a 20% slope even when the front tires lack grip. 

A fully flat underbody, aero-optimized wheels, and active grille shutters contribute to the impressive range figures. Using a 160-kW DC fast charger, the battery can be replenished from 20% to 80% in approximately 30 minutes.

Production and Availability

Production of the new Compass commences in mid-2025 at Stellantis' Melfi plant in Italy. The SUV will debut in Europe later that year, with North American production and availability expected in 2026. Initially, only the electric variant will offer four-wheel drive, while hybrid and gasoline models will be rear-wheel drive.
