        Attractive aesthetics, firm ride

The sleek styling of the Maserati GranTurismo is captivating. It is hard to ignore it. However, after taking it for a spin, it becomes quite evident that it underdelivers in many departments. While its performance is respectable, its ride quality doesn’t match the thrilling edge that you expect from a supercar. Its firm ride compromises comfort on longer journeys that may not suit everyone. Inside, the technology seems to be a bit outdated compared in comparison to its competitors in the grand-touring segment. While it shines in aesthetics, it fails to keep up where it really matters. |

        Exciting driving experience, characterful engine

With its thrilling driving experience and stunning design, the Maserati MC20 Cielo sets the tone for the future of Maserati. While its V6 twin-turbo engine seems to be a bit conventional in comparison to competitors, it still offers optimum character. Given its versatility, the Cielo easily handles twisty canyon roads and feels balanced through tight roads. While I did not find its steering to be particularly communicative, it’s direct and quick, coupled with a grippy and agile front end, resulting in a vehicle that feels lighter than its dimensions. Its carbon-ceramic brakes give a racecar-like feeling. |
